A standard book has a “scientific design”. There is a rich history of “publishing and designing a book”. We read lots of books but never realise this fact that the way books are available today is the result of great research and innovation since antiquity when Greeks and Egyptian used to record information on the sheets of Papyrus (made of dried grass) and Indians used dried leaves for the same purpose. Indian rulers went as far as recording information in the form of Tamra-Patra (copper-sheets). But carrying huge rolls of papyrus or metal sheets of Tamra-Patra was not feasible. Innovations after Industrial Revolution came to make information handy when a design of book was realised as we find it today. Happy reading!
